Mercy Ministries

At TPC, our members can choose to be a part of a "service team," like the Mercy Ministries Team, to assist the deacons in performing particular tasks that come under their supervision. Our Mercy Ministries Team, along with the deacons, facilitate existing works of ministry now in progress through the congregation, church officers, and various community groups by recommending relationships and activities in conjunction with these ministries, search out viable mercy ministries and/or needs in the community, and seek to get members of TPC involved in the Boards that oversee the ministries supported financially by the TPC Diaconate. The Mercy Ministries Team also ensures that elderly members and widows in our church are receiving proper attention and care and provides transportation to church functions for those who need assistance. Lastly, the team facilitates the functioning of the Fellowship Groups in meeting mercy needs.

Some of the Mercy Ministries that TPC supports are listed below.

Choices of the heart

crisis pregnancy center

Choices of the Heart is a ministry to women and couples who are facing an unplanned pregnancy by providing free pregnancy tests, sonograms, and counseling. For women who choose life, Choices then offers to connect them to appropriate medical services, parenting classes, or adoption agencies, depending on their decisions. They also provide clothing, formula, baby food, and diapers through the support of their donors.

TPC supports Choices through volunteer time, funding, and prayer. For more information on Choices of the Heart, go to their website choicesoftheheart.org.

Christian Social Ministry

Food Bank & Thrift stores

CSM (Christian Social Ministry) is a faith based ministry that strives to meet the worldly needs of the less fortunate as well as sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. They take unwanted clothes and other items from local donors and sell them to generate the means to provide for various needs in our community.

Operation Christmas child

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.

Every year, TPC, along with tens of thousands of volunteers from other churches in the US and other countries, participate in this ministry by filling a shoebox full of gifts, school supplies, toys, and hygiene items for children around the world. Through these shoeboxes and a special program, children hear about the saving love of Jesus.
